BOOK OF DAYS

Winter Depression:
Dark empty sorrow
Never knowing why
Pensively conjuring light

Spring Chaos:
Green asparagus
Cherry blossom strawberries
Wildflower abundance

Summer Fulfillment:
Easy swim out to
Isolated beaches
Basking in life's bounty

Fall Holding On:
Clear, insightful
Don't make me come inside yet
I still want to linger

Christmas:
Just when darkness
Loomed overwhelming
There you were, with your hand
Outstretched

Easter:
Each new morning
Reborn into the choice:
What will I make of this gift?

Memorial Day:
Do you remember?
We had such dreams
Abandoned now by the roadside

Independence Day:
Celebrate freedom
Giving love
Unencumbered by obligation

Labor Day:
We work hard to make
A meaningful life for ourselves
And our children

Thanksgiving:
I am grateful for
This moment, this table
This family, and you
