HIKES OF MARIN

Over 185,000 acres have been designated Open Space in Marin County, California. The paths carved out between rolling hills, redwood forests, oak groves, lakes, and streams all create a right of way for hikers, equestrians, dog walkers and bicyclists to move through nature without restraint. Each time I explore a new hiking trail, something akin to a shiver runs through my psyche. I'm fairly certain that shiver is acknowledgment of my animal soul. I feel elemental.

 Oh, beautiful day!
 What miracle placed me here?
And how can I stay?

Found grace, brief
Stunning glimpse of beauty
Shatters the illusion of time

 Mysterious wonder,
Eternity exists
Within each moment

Walking with friends,
Camaraderie essential to
A life well-lived

Solitude in nature
Breathing in peace, silence
Soothes my restless soul

Pt. Reyes:
Arch Rock slid into the sea
Arched leaf canopy
Shades the solemn path

Go Ahead and Live
