But perhaps that is the point. Waiting gets you nowhere. Action alone brings progress. No excuses. Oh, sure, for the last six months I've been hobbling around on a weak foot, and this week I have a cold, and next month it will be something else. So what? Even if my action is simply to sit at the keyboard and knock out another story, that's enough. And if that seems like too much effort, I can read stories that inspire me to write my own. Luckily, today is wet and windy. Perfect writing weather. As a young girl, I used to say I needed to live before I could write. How was that for an excuse? Buffalo was a good place to hibernate with my thoughts. I was wise enough to leave at the age of twenty one. California became the venue for dramatic action, allowing me to live that beautiful and interesting life. I suppose I can start writing my story now. Time to get to work.
